Stan's 4th PPC Solo Flight -- Marysville, CA area. Touch & Goes. 360 camera.
Powered Parachute Flight -- Mendocino Complex Fire aftermath. Stan & Paul. Taken with a 360 camera. Viewers can pan and tilt around scenery.
Stan's First Paramotor Solo -- Some ground instruction. A couple dual instruction flights. Then, takeoff, maneuvers, and landing under radio instructions. Taken with 360 camera.
Thorn Hill Winery, Part 2 -- Vimana AG-X1 mapping & NDVI mission. Successfully completed 5/10/18. Post-processing & analysis in progress.
Thorn Hill Winery, Part 1 -- Vimana AG-X1. Mission: Aerial videography. Initial capture of sunrise raw footage for winery marketing videos. Partial imagery posted here. Initial scouting of 10 acre vineyard for Part 2 mapping in Red, Yellow, Green, and NDVI filtration. Part 3 and ongoing to cover sunset videography and additional vineyard NDVI scans.
How to Steal an Airplane -- Stan on preflight and ignition of the Cessna 172 and other light aircraft. "If you can figure out how to start the engines, you can fly it!" For students and even experienced pilots from an A&P mechanic perspective.
Rise of the Machines, Episode 4 -- Library Park, Lakeport. Vimana AG-X1 raw video. Sunrise over the lake.
Rise of the Machines, Episode 3 -- Heather Sentz's Sentzible Dog Training class and Clearlake Mormon church. Raw video capture for editing. Vimana AG-X1.
Rise of the Machines, Episode 2 -- Highland Springs Reservoir. Over and underexposure tests. Fast forward editing trial. Post-processing tests. Vimana AG-X1 confined area maneuvers.

Lake & Mendocino County at 3,000 to 4,000 MPH -- Google Earth simulator, keyboard flight. 3D Landsat imagery environment. If the aircraft and pilot could withstand such g-loading, that's about what flying a hypersonic cruise missile out to Mach 5 through the area would look like. Imagine it at Mach 25!

Isabella's First Flight-- 21 NOV 15, 1964 Cessna 172, N5428T Pilot: Clovice Lewis Copilot: Stan Snow, A&P, Mountain Lake Labs Granny: Annie Barnes Flight: Lampson Field area. Maintenance flight test. Recent annual inspection. Comm/Nav RX/TX range, clarity, and VOR checks to 6,000 ft. MSL. RX/TX strong to Santa Rosa (Radio 2). RX w/Ukiah, Sacto, NorCal, Half Moon Bay (#2 newer/stronger). Transponder inop. ELT-due (406 upgrade). Engine good. Minor/routine items to monitor & fix on deferred schedule. Descent to Mt. Konocti, Lakeport, and return. Camera: Brief goofing around by Stan Snow with cell phone's camera to catch view and footage for first-time passenger's parents. Then, return to original purpose of the maintenance flight.
Ornithopter Research Fun -- June 2013. Some flight test of off-shelf and modified ornithopters -- Avitron 2.0. Weight & balance study, max payload per wing area, flight performance, etc. The Mountain Lake Labs Bat Wing is also designed to be an ornithopter. Ornithopters have the advantage of excellent STOL performance, quiet flight, and increased energy efficiency. However, they are lacking in high speed performance suitable to slice through heavy winds without the deep aft sweep and stowing of our articulating wing patent and additional thrust beyond mere wing flapping.
Vimana MX-1 Flight Test #7-#8 -- Aug 2012. Some ground and flight instruction given to Scotty, Jr. Scotty's first loop. Scotty's first landing. Flights also tested aileron adjustment and weight compensation for wing camera payload. Much better on the prior roll sluggishness. Elevator trim and control less aggressive now that better used to the controls. Test flight #8 tested the addition of a larger battery which caused a nose heavy condition. Vimana MX-1 still flew very well despite increased loading, but we could not pull out of a dive near the ground after some aerobatics due to the nose-heavy condition. Aircraft and subsystems proved very survivable among a high g impact nosed in at full throttle. Only the nose ripped out exposing electronics. All electronics and wiring survived the crash nicely and are returned to flying condition. Vimana MX-1 is presently under repair and upgrade. Future tests are looking for maximum loading versus maneuvering capacity. Flight data recorder also revealed GPS positional inaccuracy which needs correction.
Vimana MX-1 Flight Test #6 & Scotty's First Flight - Aug 2012.
Vimana MX1 Flight Test #4 & #5 -- Downlooking Wing Camera Tests. Aug 2012.
Vimana MX1 Successful Flight Tests #1 to #3 -- Aug 2012. Actually Stan's first ever RC flying (Used to only fly cable-controlled as a kid. RC was a rich kid thing back then.) Mountain Lake Labs' Vimana MX1 among initial test flight after new modifications. Nose-heavy condition after payload changes left the bird eager to dive and difficult to get airborne without adjustment of the elevator in compensation. Tendency to porpoise -- especially with the pusher prop and throttle changes. Trim also had to be set for extreme throw on all flight controls and took a little getting used to. Previous crash damage and repairs have left the Vimana a bit warped, but still flying well as a rugged little bird. Repetitive crashes and landing attempts on rough ground led to installation of better armor, skids, and relocation of cameras & electronics. Her nose is slightly bent to the right. Straightened as much as possible without adding more weight. Tail slightly twisted even after straightening & repairs. Thus, the aircraft flies a bit aggressive on left roll and sluggish to respond on right roll, but Stan decided to keep flying and just compensate.
